In 2005 Steve Edwards and Mike Ellerby created CoLaw, an Employment Law and Health & Safety consultancy based in Leicestershire.  Now, just four years later, CoLaw employ 11 world class practitioners and look after over 60 UK based businesses.

With over 35 years experience between them Steve and Mike head up a team that offer practical, tailored advice that benefits your business and your people whilst, at the same time, freeing up your time so that you can concentrate on what matters most – driving your business forwards.

Steve Edwards.  Steve has worked in employment law and human resources for over 25 years and has worked in companies both large and small covering a wide variety of industries including manufacturing, engineering, distribution, aerospace and pharmaceuticals.  Steve ran his own independent consultancy for many years before forming a partnership with Mike Ellerby.  Steve understands the distinct dynamics and demands of being an owner-managed business.

Steve holds responsibility for the employment law side of CoLaw and is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).

Mike Ellerby LLB BSc CMIOSH MIIRSM CChem MRSC CSci.  Emerging from a strong scientific background Mike developed his skills in matters relating to safety and environmental management.  Following several years of industrial experience Mike joined a large health & safety consultancy 15 years ago.  In 2005 Mike and Steve brought their skills together and created CoLaw.

Mike holds responsibility for the health & safety side of CoLaw and is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), a Member of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM), a Chartered Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry and a Chartered Scientist.
