Gas Safety Certificates - Landlords and Facilities Managers

From the beginning of April 2009, the Gas Safe Register has replaced the CORGI gas registration scheme in Great Britain.  Fourteen people died in 2008 from carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning that was due to badly installed, repaired or maintained gas appliances.

Gas safety certificates for landlords

Landlords must have a gas safety check carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer on all of their properties each year and they must provide up-to-date gas safety certificates to their tenants. This certificate confirms to the tenant that the appliances have been serviced properly and that the property is gas safe.
