Farmers and workers who treat livestock, particularly sheep, are urged to follow the manufacturer’s recommendations for wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) when using the products.
The findings of a recent survey conducted by the National Farmers Union Scotland suggested that PPE including protective boots, gloves and coveralls are not always worn when applying “pour-on” products used to control sheep ectoparasites such as blow flies, ticks and lice.
