Safety and Health Awareness Days (SHAD’s) are a key workstream in the ‘Agriculture Revisited’ initiative. They are aimed at farmers and are free of charge. They are based on practical demonstrations covering everyday hazards focused on the main causes of fatal and major injuries and ill health. HSE has run over 140 of these events in the past ten years, which have been attended by over 43 000 people throughout England, Scotland and Wales. The audience is usually made up of family farmers, the self employed and those employing up to four workers.
HSE is inviting tenders to provide instructors to HSE to deliver the content of the SHAD events proposed during the period starting 3 January 2011 and ending on 31 March 2012.
