The HSE is promoting employee involvement in Health and Safety in the workplace.
"HSE places great importance on worker involvement and consultation. Your employees influence health and safety through their own actions. They are often the best people to understand the risks in their workplace." Information may be found on the recently launched HSE website "Do your bit"
Subsidised training is available from the HSE
There is strong evidence that involving your workforce is fundamental to good health and safety performance - and therefore good for business – no matter how big or small or whether your organisation is unionised or not. HSE are offering two new subsidised health and safety training courses designed to either:
- help organizations get started with worker involvement; or
- improve their existing arrangements for involving workers.
The courses are designed to help organisations achieve the potential benefits associated with a collaborative approach to health and safety at work. These include lower accident rates, increased productivity, efficiency and quality.
